We're proud to share that we are a Certified B Corporation™
What B Corp™ Means
B Corp certification represents one of the most rigorous global standards for responsible business.
Administered by the nonprofit organization B Lab, the B Corp assessment evaluates companies across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. It measures how businesses create value not only for shareholders, but for employees, communities, and the planet.
Unlike many certifications that focus on a single issue, B Corp certification looks at the entire business model. Companies must demonstrate transparency, accountability, and measurable impact across their operations.
For Krimson Klover, pursuing B Corp certification is a natural extension of how we already strive to operate. It provides a framework to measure our progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and hold ourselves accountable to the values we believe in.
The process encourages us to continually ask better questions:
- How can we design products more responsibly?
- How can we strengthen relationships with our partners?
- How can we better serve our community?
B Corp certification is not an end point – it is a tool for continuous improvement.
Why We Exist
Krimson Klover was founded on a simple belief: clothing should add meaning to our lives, not excess to the world.
From the beginning, our approach to apparel has been intentional. We believe the garments we choose to wear should be thoughtfully made, responsibly sourced, and designed to last far beyond a single season. In a world of fast cycles and disposable fashion, we have chosen a different path – one rooted in quality, creativity, and long-term thinking.
Our story began in Boulder, Colorado, where the mountains are not just scenery but a way of life. It was here that founder Rhonda Swenson envisioned a brand that celebrated the beauty of alpine living while honoring the values of the people who call these landscapes home. Krimson Klover was built to reflect the rhythm of mountain life – where durability matters, craftsmanship is respected, and authenticity always wins over excess.
As a women-founded brand in the outdoor industry, we also saw an opportunity to help reshape the narrative around women’s apparel. Too often, performance clothing was designed with function alone in mind, leaving little room for individuality, artistry, or personal expression. We believed women deserved more.
Krimson Klover exists to bridge that gap: where fashion meets function, and performance is expressed through design, craftsmanship, and creativity.
As Rhonda often says:
"Apparel is an investment that should focus on high-quality, low-impact, comfortable pieces that will last – and that you will love for a lifetime."
That philosophy continues to guide every decision we make.
What We Believe
At Krimson Klover, our values shape how we design products, how we partner with manufacturers, and how we show up in our communities. These values are not marketing language – they are the principles that guide how we choose to do business.
How We Design Products
Design is where intention becomes reality.
Every Krimson Klover piece begins with the same guiding question: how will this garment live in someone’s wardrobe for years to come?
We design with longevity in mind. That means choosing materials that age beautifully, creating silhouettes that transcend trends, and building pieces that function across multiple environments and activities.
Our collections are built around layering systems that allow women to adapt to changing conditions throughout the day. A sweater that works on a ski trip should also feel just as natural at dinner in town. A base layer should perform on the mountain while still being comfortable enough for travel or everyday wear.
This approach allows customers to build a wardrobe that evolves with them rather than replacing it each season.
As we often say:
We don’t design for a season. We design for years of wear.
Our Materials
Material selection plays a critical role in the impact and performance of every garment we create.
We prioritize fibers that offer both durability and responsible sourcing.
Merino wool is valued for its natural temperature regulation, breathability, and odor resistance. Alpaca provides exceptional softness and warmth while being naturally resilient. Cashmere offers a luxurious hand feel and long-lasting comfort when sourced responsibly.
We also incorporate preferred fibers such as recycled materials and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose, which are produced using more resource-efficient processes compared to conventional alternatives.
Whenever possible, we work with suppliers aligned with leading certification standards, including the Responsible Wool Standard and the Good Cashmere Standard, as well as partners within the Textile Exchange network.
These choices help ensure that the fibers used in our garments meet high expectations for both environmental responsibility and product quality.
Manufacturing Partners
Behind every Krimson Klover garment is a network of skilled artisans and trusted manufacturing partners.
Many of our knitwear pieces are produced in Peru, where generations of textile craftsmanship have created a deep expertise in working with natural fibers such as alpaca and cotton. These artisans bring an extraordinary level of skill and attention to detail to every garment.
We believe strong partnerships lead to better products and better outcomes for everyone involved. Rather than constantly shifting production, we aim to build long-term relationships with manufacturers who share our commitment to quality, ethical labor practices, and mutual respect.
Our partners are selected not only for their technical capabilities but also for their values. We prioritize factories that support fair working conditions, invest in their employees, and maintain safe and responsible workplaces.
Over time, these relationships become collaborations – built on trust, shared knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Slow Fashion in Practice
The fashion industry produces an enormous amount of clothing each year, much of which is worn only briefly before being discarded. In the United States alone, more than 14 million tons of clothing are thrown away annually.
Slow fashion offers an alternative.
At Krimson Klover, slow fashion means designing products that stand the test of time. It means producing in thoughtful quantities, avoiding unnecessary overproduction, and focusing on durable materials that maintain their integrity over years of wear.
Our collections are intentionally versatile, allowing pieces to transition between seasons and activities. By designing garments that customers can rely on again and again, we aim to reduce the cycle of constant replacement that contributes to textile waste.
Slow fashion is not about producing less for the sake of it – it is about producing better.
Product Lifecycle Thinking
A garment’s impact does not begin or end with its production.
From the earliest design stages, we consider how each piece will live throughout its lifecycle – from fiber sourcing to long-term use.
Durability is one of the most effective ways to reduce environmental impact. A sweater worn for ten years creates far less waste than one worn for a single season.
We also design with versatility in mind. Layering systems allow customers to mix and match pieces across different activities and conditions, extending the usefulness of every garment.
By focusing on timeless aesthetics and durable construction, we aim to create clothing that remains relevant long after trends fade.
Social Impact
The outdoors should be a place where everyone feels welcome.
Krimson Klover proudly supports organizations that expand access to outdoor experiences and elevate underrepresented voices in the outdoor community.
Our partnerships include organizations such as Edge Outdoors, AdventurUs Women, The Cairn Project, Hoods to Woods, and the Eldora Ski Club. These groups work to empower women, support youth access to outdoor sports, and create more inclusive pathways into outdoor recreation.
Through collaborations, donations, and storytelling, we aim to help amplify the work these organizations are doing.
We also collaborate with artists and creatives whose work celebrates outdoor culture, such as our partnership with artist Lamont Joseph White.
Together, these partnerships reflect our belief that the outdoors should be a space of opportunity, inspiration, and belonging.
Women Powered
Women have always been at the center of Krimson Klover.
From leadership and product design to creative partnerships and brand storytelling, women shape the voice and direction of our company.
We collaborate with female artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, and creatives who share a passion for living boldly and authentically. Their perspectives influence not only our products but also the stories we tell.
Women-powered leadership allows us to bring empathy, collaboration, and creativity into every aspect of the business. It also ensures that our products are designed with a deep understanding of the women who wear them.
We believe empowering women in the outdoors creates stronger communities and a more vibrant future for the industry.
Our Environmental Journey
Responsibility is an ongoing journey.
While we are proud of the progress we have made – including increasing our use of preferred fibers and building strong manufacturing partnerships – we recognize there is always more work to do.
Improving traceability within our supply chain, increasing recycled materials, and reducing packaging impact are areas where we continue to focus our efforts.
Transparency is an essential part of this process. By openly acknowledging both our progress and our challenges, we hope to build trust with our customers and partners.
Sustainability is not a destination. It is a commitment to continual learning, improvement, and accountability.
