      Technical Designer/Product Developer

      Krimson Klover is a women’s clothing brand specializing in earth-friendly, luxurious clothing targeted to the ski, outdoor and fashion industry.   We are a privately held, woman-owned and operated company located at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado. We are searching for a Technical Designer/Product Developer.  Someone who is hard-working, passionate and understands the ethos behind a small company and who will be excited to be a part of everything that goes along with that. This position requires a detail-oriented self-starter who can collaborate and communicate across multiple departments to organize and complete projects in a timely manner. This position in technical design and product development is an integral position, supporting in efforts of the management and planning of the product life cycle from the idea stage through to the final product. 

      What you will do in this job:

      • You will get to be creative and detailed daily.
      • Be an integral partner with the design and product development team.
      • Manage all parts of technical design and product development processes, from concept to delivery.
      • Manage parts related to tech design including BOM details, tech packs instructions, with external consultants, merchandiser and internal creative team.
      • Accurately measure samples and identify any fit issues with product. 
      • Exceptional eye to identify fit issues and recommend solutions while mindful of SMS, bulk production and costing.
      • Input specs and measurements per style in tech packs and conduct fit evaluations.
      • Update specs and construction call outs in tech packs.
      • Compile information on all garment comments including fit, construction, stitch and trim into fit document for sending to vendors.
      • Review and approve all protos, pp’s and TOP’s to ensure all specs and constructions are accurate.
      • Keep tech packs updated with all updates through the development process.
      • Attend and lead weekly fittings to communicate revisions to vendors.
      • Manage fit photos and prepare products for fit evaluations with live models, taking notes and photos during all fittings. 
      • Support maintaining of WIP sample tracking & sample storage.
      • Guide and manage parts of a product development calendar.
      • Help develop and maintain product standards.
      • Work with team to source yarns, fabrics, trims, etc.  Lead in development projects.
      • Tracking: Follow up with vendors regarding lab dip requests, strike offs, managing workflow, prioritizing and consistent follow up with vendors.
      • Work with team to create and maintain a working file of all products including tech packs.
      • Engage in relationships with third party vendor partners in product efforts including, but not limited to:
        • Product material and trim specifications
        • Product fit (apparel, accessories)
        • All technical product details and tech packs
        • Calendar management
      • Color / trim approvals
      • Problem solving
      • Participate in status of all product development with sales and marketing team on a regular basis.
      • Support efforts with PD, design and sales to ensure SMS and Bulk orders/products are accurate and with timely delivery.
      • Participate to ensure product outcomes align with brand values and revenue plans.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally to execute launch of new products. Collaborate on sales collateral.
      • Support efforts for “SMU” development.
      • Partner with QC lead to identify product quality issues and create solutions.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications and Skills

      • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical designer or product developer in manufacturing of apparel
      • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
      • Experience in outdoor product development
      • Strong working knowledge of the product creating process
      • Working knowledge of material and trim development, lead times
      • Experience with patternmaking and digital pattern design software is a plus but not required
      • Willingness to travel if needed to trade shows, vendors and manufacturing partners
      • Strong multitasking, organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
      • Must be able to be flexible regarding job duties and pivot daily tasks as needed
      • Team player who will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
      • You have a working knowledge of both knitwear and woven construction
      • This position requires in office

        Fit Model

        Krimson Klover is looking for a fit model with the below women’s size “Small” measurements. Apply if you have the correct measurements and have a flexible schedule. Fit models are used to check the fit, features, and visual appearance of Krimson Klover’s garments.


        Women’s Measurements:
                                Small 
        Bust              35”- 36”
        Waist             27”- 28”
        Low Hip        37.5”- 38.5”

      • Bust: The horizontal circumference around the torso, taken under the arms and across the fullest part of the chest/bust apex including the lower portion of the shoulder blades (with bra) 
      • Waist: The horizontal circumference around the torso taken at the waist
      • Low Hip: The maximum horizontal circumference around the torso taken at the greatest protrusion of the buttocks as seen from the side 

      • Fit model experience is beneficial, but not required. 1-2 hours commitment per week.
