Each fall, our design team travels to London taking in the sights and sounds of the city. Art, fashion, exhibitions, culture, music, food, lifestyle—London is full of so much inventive creativity, it’s bursting with inspiration around every corner.
We love that London has this infectious energy that differs a little in each neighborhood, stemming from the endless amount of bold expression around the city. New vibes, moods, ideas, and aesthetics are really in your face and it’s so exciting.
With its rich heritage and mosaic of cultures, you can really feel the diverse influences from all over the world. The unique, spirited counterculture of London’s past feels alive, while recent sustainable movements continue to shape its artistic landscape.
The London fashion scene is full of early adopters and risk takers that don’t hold back with bold, fresh looks and loud, self-expression. And the city stays at the forefront of sustainable fashion, with so many designers and retailers innovating in this space. The creative spirit and individuality of street fashion combined with the deep rooted heritage in quality, classic and timeless looks round out the London fashion scene. Some of the city’s most iconic designers like Burberry, Alexander McQueen, and Vivienne Westwood display this diversity in their aesthetics.
Being a brand that proudly speaks to heritage and quality with a fun and bold aesthetic, and a commitment to sustainability in all aspects of our business—London is the perfect place for our team to gather inspiration on every level when creating each new Krimson Klover collection.
Our team heads to London at a time of year that is perfect for the arrival of fall fashion. London is always ahead of the fashion curve, making it the ideal stop for us to combine market research and inspiration-seeking all in one place. Equipped with a list of must-visit places in a number of different London neighborhoods, we map out our days stumbling upon new discoveries each trip.
We always include a visit to Liberty London. From the rich history of the store with its incredible fabrics and carefully curated selection of pieces within designer collections to its colorful and inventive merchandising and installations—it’s one of the most unique places for inspiration.
The changing art installations in the Soho streets bring a new mood and fresh creative vibes. Boutiques and vintage shops such as One of A Kind Archive in Notting Hill present new treasures to inspire. Our must-visit London neighborhoods include Marylebone, Mayfair, Shoreditch, Kings Road, and Covent Garden. They are filled with street art, shops and galleries. And it’s always fun to visit the Leake Street tunnels to catch new graffiti art.
London is full of incredible museums. The V&A and Tate Modern are staples for some of the best exhibitions. EDEN Gallery in Mayfair and Sophie Tea Art in Soho are favorite gallery stops of ours. There’s also a growing number of outdoor exhibitions and street art in just about every neighborhood that feel unexpected and exciting to discover. And we love staying at The Mandeville Hotel, where our favorite Mediterranean restaurant, Fairuz, is a short walk away for a low-key, incredible meal.
We take all of this inspiration back to our Boulder HQ. Anything that excites us from the trip, whether it be a major concept for a whole collection or small inspirations we’ll weave together to create our story direction.
We’re so inspired with all of the craft-like elements we find in many different mediums around London. There is an artisanal, whimsical, handmade vibe to so much of what we come across that speaks perfectly to Krimson Klover.
Everything we do at Krimson Klover is artisan-driven. Each piece we create is a work of art. You’lll find a lot of small and unique details like embroidery, super textured, handmade-feel jacquards, and patchwork knits throughout our Fall/Winter ‘24 Collection guided by this inspiration.
Visiting London for the first time? We recommend hopping in one of the iconic black cabs and taking it around the city. London cab drivers are required to have a near encyclopedic knowledge of the city, so you’re sure to find off-the-beaten-path spots that invite further discovery. And, always keep your eyes peeled for all of the amazing art!
