There’s no denying it… we’ll jump on any excuse to #TakeItOutside for some quality rest and relaxation. We heard it’s #NationalRelaxationDay, so we decided to head outdoors and chill.
Here are 4 of our all-time favorite places to unwind around Boulder, CO.

🌲 Flagstaff Road
Catch sunrise or sunset overlooking the city of Boulder. There are many pull-offs and parking lots along Flagstaff Road with various views spanning across the horizon. From this road, you can spot CU Boulder’s iconic red-orange clay tile roofs, Folsom Field, and even Baseline Reservoir. Be cautious driving this winding mountain road and keep your eyes peeled for bicyclists!

🌲 Chautauqua Park
Enjoy a picnic at Chautauqua Park with striking views of the Flatirons as your backdrop. Park at the visitor center or along the street then walk on over to the grassy park area. Don’t forget your picnic blanket so you can lay out and enjoy the sunshine!

🌲 Boulder Creek
Wade, tube, or hammock along Boulder Creek. On a hot summer day, you can find a cozy nook along the creek or hang with the community who gather here for recreation. Grab your tube, kick up your feet, and ride the creek downstream.

🌲 Gross Reservoir
Pack the cooler and bring your SUP for a full day on the water. Gross Reservoir is tucked away between Boulder and Nederland, which gets you far enough into the wilderness but not too far for a day trip. Hop on your SUP and coast out into the blue. It’s important to note that it’s prohibited to swim in the reservoir, so be sure to stay on your watercraft!
