From Yarn to You: How Our Women’s Sweaters Are Made

The Journey Behind Every Krimson Klover Sweater

Every Krimson Klover sweater begins long before it reaches your closet.

Before the first sample.
Before production.
Before the final fit.

It starts with inspiration, thoughtful design, premium yarns, and a commitment to creating women’s sweaters that balance comfort, performance, style, and longevity.

From Colorado mountain landscapes to artisan craftsmanship in Peru, every step of our process is intentional. Because creating high-quality knitwear takes time, and the pieces you wear most should be built to last.

Inspired by Travel, Mountains, and Everyday Adventure

At Krimson Klover, inspiration comes from the places we love most:
mountain towns, outdoor adventures, travel experiences, and the everyday moments in between.

Recently, our team traveled to Peru, where we visited factory partners, explored local textile markets, and experienced firsthand the craftsmanship behind the yarns and knitwear techniques used throughout our collections.

The colors of woven fabrics.
The textures of handmade yarns.
The artistry of knit construction.

Those experiences help shape every collection we create.

As a women-founded outdoor lifestyle brand based in Boulder, Colorado, we design pieces inspired by movement, versatility, and life outside.

Choosing the Right Yarn for Every Sweater

Every sweater starts with yarn selection.

The yarn determines how a sweater feels, how it drapes, how warm it is, and how well it performs over time. Choosing the right fibers is one of the most important parts of creating premium women’s knitwear.

We work closely with our manufacturing partners to source materials that balance softness, durability, breathability, and responsible production practices.

Many Krimson Klover sweaters feature natural and preferred fibers including:

  • Merino wool
  • Alpaca
  • Cashmere
  • Cotton blends
  • LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose

These fibers are chosen for their comfort, performance, and longevity, helping create sweaters designed to be worn season after season.

From Sketch to Sweater Design

Once yarns and inspiration come together, the design process begins.

Sketches help shape:

  • silhouettes
  • stitch textures
  • knit patterns
  • color placement
  • fit details

But designing a sweater goes far beyond a sketch.

Every decision is made with real life in mind:
Will it layer comfortably?
Will it travel well?
Will it move easily throughout the day?
Will it still feel timeless years from now?

At Krimson Klover, we believe great women’s sweaters should feel effortless, versatile, and wearable beyond a single season.

Sampling, Fit Testing, and Refinement

After the first prototype is created, every sweater goes through rounds of sampling, fit testing, and refinement before production begins.

This stage allows our team to evaluate:

  • fit
  • softness
  • stitch tension
  • drape
  • movement
  • layering functionality

Sometimes adjustments are small, like refining a sleeve length or modifying a knit texture. But those details make a meaningful difference in how the final garment feels and performs.

Thoughtful knitwear design takes time, collaboration, and constant refinement.

Responsible Production and Craftsmanship

Our recent visit to Peru reinforced something we’ve always believed:
great sweaters are made by skilled hands and thoughtful partnerships.

Working directly with factory partners gives us a closer understanding of the craftsmanship, materials, and production processes behind every piece we create.

From yarn development to knit construction, every stage requires care, precision, and experience.

As part of our commitment to slow fashion principles, we focus on creating durable, versatile pieces designed to be worn repeatedly, not just for one season.

Designed for Real Life

Krimson Klover sweaters are designed to move through every part of your life.

A lightweight layer for summer travel.
A sweater packed for a mountain getaway.
A knit worn over swim after a lake day.
A favorite piece pulled on during chilly mornings.

Versatility is at the center of everything we create.

Because the best women’s sweaters aren’t just beautiful. They become part of your everyday routine.

From Yarn to You

Months after the first inspiration appears, the final pieces are produced, finished, and shipped to customers around the world.

What began as an idea moves through:
inspiration, yarn selection, sketching, sampling, fit testing, production, and thoughtful refinement.

Until finally, it becomes yours.

From yarn to you, every Krimson Klover sweater is designed with intention, inspired by the mountains, shaped through craftsmanship, and created for women who want pieces that feel as good as they look.
