Every trip we take to visit our artisan partners in Peru we leave feeling more inspired. Peru is rich with natural beauty, craftsmanship, adventure, and history. It’s where our founder, Rhonda, first started designing sweaters. Being a knitter, Rhonda witnessed the heart and soul Peruvian artisans put into their work. She knew these partnerships were something special.
We work in tandem with artisan-driven factories in Peru that take great pride and care in everything they do. From sourcing natural fibers from local, sustainable farms to crafting each sweater by hand—our knitters create sweaters that are true works of art from hand painted yarn to hand finished details. Each sweater can take up to 5 hours to make. Most factories do everything automated because their focus is on quantity. Our focus is on all the small details to ensure each piece represents the quality we hold so dear.
Peru is a place that shares our slow fashion values. We’re delighted to bring you premium, one-of-a-kind Peruvian sweaters that tell a vibrant story.
The Best Fibers in the World
Being picky can be a wonderful quality—especially when it comes to what’s in your clothing. We use the finest fibers in the world in our apparel.
Let’s start with Peruvian alpaca. High in the Andes, alpacas have lived for centuries in conditions that bring sun and snow in a single day. Their fleece evolved to help them thrive in these conditions with fibers that are lightweight, resilient, and versatile. Peruvian alpacas are known for their low environmental footprint; they’re sustainable grazers with renewable fleece living on their native land.
To further elevate the look, feel, and performance of this fabulous fiber, we opt to work with baby alpaca. Don’t be fooled by the name! “Baby” alpaca refers to the fineness of the fiber, not the age of the animal. It’s the baby hairs hidden underneath the main fleece, the softest part of the fleece of an alpaca. Baby alpaca is soft enough to rival cashmere yet strong enough to last season after season. It’s naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and insulating—keeping you cozy on chilly mornings without ever feeling heavy.
We are so excited to introduce Tanguis cotton into our Fall/Winter 2025 line. Prized for being more breathable, durable, and stronger than regular cotton, Tanguis cotton is perfectly suited to Peru’s climate requiring less water to grow and yielding up to six harvests per year—making it a more sustainable choice. It's absolutely gorgeous and some of the most luxurious cotton that you can find.
Designing the Perfect Women’s Sweater
We believe everyday luxury should feel effortless. That’s why our baby alpaca sweaters and Tangius cotton knits are designed to move with you from mountain mornings to city nights. Soft, breathable, and endlessly wearable, you’ll reach for these sweaters year after year.
Art is in our brand DNA. The inspiration behind our Artisan Peruvian Sweaters builds on our celebration of art and craftsmanship from our past collections.
Our Confetti Alpaca Pullover sweater features hand-painted yarn with playful pops of color. This yarn’s unique multi-color confetti effect ensures no two sweaters are alike. The Confetti Pullover blends luxuriously soft baby alpaca with vibrant, feel-good color to brighten even the grayest winter days. Sustainably sourced alpaca fibers create a super soft, lightweight warmth, while Merino wool adds structure and resilience. This natural blend is breathable, insulating, and perfect for cozying up in colder weather.
A true work of art, our Freebird Baby Alpaca Turtleneck sweater is one of the most exquisite pieces in this season’s collection. Hand-appliqued by our skilled artisans in Peru, it blends rich texture—cables, embroidery, and dimensional detail—with the unmatched softness of baby alpaca. Every stitch tells a story of craftsmanship and care. This turtleneck sweater offers cloud-like comfort, natural breathability, and flexible durability. Warm, wearable, and wildly special, the Freebird is made to turn heads.
Our Frea Baby Alpaca Cable Sweater provides a soft twist on tradition. With a gentle drape and intricate cable-and-stitch detail, it gives your cold-weather rotation a subtle and timeless statement piece. Crafted with baby alpaca fibers for luxurious softness and Merino wool for natural breathability, this blended yarn beautifully maintains its shape.
Our Star Sweater is designed with 100% Peruvian Tanguis cotton yarn. This ultra-soft, naturally breathable fabric offers lasting comfort and a smooth, luxurious feel that gets better with each wear. We added an oversized star to strike the perfect style note for cold days.
Also made from 100% Tanguis cotton, our Snowflake Sweater delivers vintage charm with a modern sophistication. Incredibly soft, breathable, and long-lasting, our snowflake sweater is a fun nod to our favorite season.
Our Slow Fashion Philosophy
At Krimson Klover, we’ve been honoring Slow Fashion long before it became a movement. Fashion, like food, is best when crafted “from scratch”. We believe all good things take time. We don’t rush through our hikes, bike rides, or travels. Why would we rush through our products?
From our HQ team, suppliers, and factories to our customers, nonprofit partners, and retailers—we are committed to building long-standing relationships based on sustainability, passion, and trust. As always, we choose our materials mindfully and meticulously. We stand on our pillars of natural, sustainable fibers like Merino, alpaca, and cotton.
Ethical choices aren't just better for our planet—they’re better for you. Everything looks, feels, and performs better when it’s made with intention, love, and care.
With natural performance, an elegant feel, and environmentally responsible roots, our Artisan Peruvian Sweaters celebrate heritage, craftsmanship, and the extraordinary resilience of nature.
