There’s nothing quite like fall in Colorado.
The air gets a little crisper. The mornings call for another layer. And seemingly overnight, entire mountainsides trade their summer greens for brilliant shades of gold.
It’s one of our favorite times of year to get outside, hit the road, and see where the season takes us. So grab a sweater, a warm drink, and your favorite adventure buddy. We’re sharing a few of our favorite places to chase fall color in Colorado – plus what we’re wearing along the way.
Crested Butte + Kebler Pass
Go for: Endless aspen groves, winding mountain roads, and serious small-town charm.
If you're chasing gold, it's hard to beat Kebler Pass. Home to one of the largest aspen groves in the country, the drive comes alive in fall with miles of brilliant yellow and gold.
Make a weekend of it and spend some time wandering Crested Butte. Grab a coffee, explore the shops along Elk Avenue, head out for a hike, and take the long way home. This is one of those places where getting there is half the fun.
What We’re Wearing
Think cozy knits, easy layers, and plenty of color. Start with a favorite sweater, add a jacket or vest for cooler mornings, and you're ready for everything from a scenic drive to an afternoon wandering town.
Aspen + Maroon Bells
Go for: Iconic Colorado views with a little polish.
There's a reason this view ends up on postcards.
Golden aspens surrounding the Maroon Bells make an already spectacular landscape even better in fall. Start early, soak in the views, then head back into Aspen for lunch, shopping, and a stroll around town.
It’s the perfect mix of mountains and town – which also happens to be exactly how we like to dress.
What We’re Wearing
Beautiful sweaters, elevated layers, and pieces that can go straight from a morning outside to lunch in town. Comfortable enough for exploring, polished enough for whatever comes next.
Georgetown + Guanella Pass
Go for: An easy day trip packed with fall color.
You don't have to go far to find a little fall magic.
Head west to historic Georgetown, grab a coffee, wander the charming downtown, and then make your way up Guanella Pass. The road climbs through beautiful stretches of aspen before opening up to sweeping mountain views.
It's an easy escape when you want a full dose of Colorado fall without committing to an entire weekend away.
What We’re Wearing
Versatile layers are the move here. A lightweight knit, jacket or vest gives you plenty of options as the temperature changes from town to the top of the pass.
Add a little color and consider your fall uniform handled.
Peak to Peak Scenic Byway
Go for: A classic Colorado road trip close to home.
Sometimes you don't need a destination. You just need a really good road.
The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway winds through some of Colorado's prettiest mountain scenery, connecting charming towns, trailheads, mountain views, and plenty of opportunities to pull over when the aspens are putting on a show.
Take your time. Stop when something looks beautiful. Find somewhere you've never been. That's kind of the point.
What We’re Wearing
Layers made for a little bit of everything. Cozy knits for chilly mornings, easy outerwear when the wind picks up, and enough color to compete with the scenery.
Made for Fall
Colorado's fall color never sticks around quite long enough.
Maybe that's part of what makes it so special.
So take the drive. Stop for the photo. Wander through town. Order another coffee. Stay outside a little longer. And wear something that makes the whole day feel even better.
Because some seasons are simply too beautiful to stay home.
